I wake up early, with the discourse of a narrative that I must evolve into a text. Sometines it happens. It’s the conclusion of seeing clearly what must come out of the result of sitting down to write. An finally say it. As you see it. This is how writting makes you free. It puts on the table words, sentences, meaning, that up until this moment did not quite exist the way you are laying it down.
But then I get up, it’s still dark. I turn on the bathroom light…flash… take a dump, brush my teeth. I get out of lou and go get that first glass of water. In the way the clock in the kitchen oven signals: 7:01. It could’ve been earlier, and then the cycle would have led me back to bed; to keep sleeping. But it’s early and late enough. So go directly to the desk, to write.
From the initial thought of writting about what I clearly understand it’s the message I want to put out, I realize that in its entirerity does not fit on a post. It’s bigger than that. In fact there might be three books in it. Yet the idea has transformed the notion of the immediacy to get the words down. The idea, as it was unveiled might end up evaporating, much like David Lynch would say about ideas that are not put down on paper.
The problem is that by the time I sit down and write, the relevance of how it all fits into a moment of truth is shifted from the dream scenario to the state of affairs scenario. Today is the election in Germany. At the core of Europe, the future of our society is ticking in a way in which the narrative is going to be shaped by the complexity of the governance in the current scenario for the entire European Union. And the elephant in the room is already the king of comedy sitting on the throne of the western world top seat: POTUS.
DonT has landed just about a month ago and the repercussion of their deliberate actions have alredy caused the deportation of about the same number of immigrants that Joe Biden deported last year at this date. But, the way it’s been it’s been told, the scenes of inmigrants getting hand cuffed into planes, the use of dogs of prey to hunt down inmigrants has shifted the psicosis and the the confidence of people are now living under siege, as a target for the message that the president wants to send to his voters, his enemies and the world. He’s going to be in charge of the narrative of what’s to happen in ways in which we have not yet seen, as he now knows where he’s landing, and his plan has unleashed federal orders of all kinds, thanks to the freedom to operate that the results of the election, on both chambers of governement, the control of the constitutional court, and the allied technobros that are heiling to the king in ways that will shamefully set a bunch of millionares at the hunt of democracy and the wellfare state.
Just yersteday, a Spanish tourist from Bilbao was attacked at the holocaust memorial in Berlin by a Syrian refugee. A legal inmigrant that fled arrived as a teen two years ago, and that went out, as he has put it, in the hunt of jews. Antisemitic terrorist attack, and a political terrorist action in response to the genocide in Gaza perpetrated by Israel. The Israel siege of Gaza has now a new ally: DonT has expressed he will build the Mediterraneum Riviera. A place for rich people to enjoy a resort where Palestinians have lived, up till now, and the blurring lines of international agreements have somehow distorted the notion of owning the land. Who’s land is it anyway? That question could create a new set of debates if the same principles were to be applied in the USA, it’s original people, and the land they now live on. In fact, expansionist colonialism is somehow back in the agenda, and maybe it’s a good time to revise the notion of how that has shaped the frontiers of our nations.
DonT used to call out on Obama for being an African president. Shamelessly. Now he’s put Elon Musk, the world richest man, or one of them, to run the government as he fits. He’s a south african pro-aperheid, who has put in vogue the Roman salut, which has now been followed, also shamelessly by Steve Bannon and a mexican actor in the quest for the fascist hall of fame. A far right party in Germany will come out today as the second democratic choice of germans, in front of the current socialist party who has lead the last government. Besides yesterday’s terrorist attack, four more have taken place in Germany the last month. The feeling against inmigrants is sharped and it has also affected the way in which Germany feels about Angela Merkel, who according to current state of affairs left the door open.
But the world seems to be heading towards a shameless rerun of the 20th century, as we already know how the history went, and maybe because we do, there are still old feelings alive and aware of the risks and dangers of facists going for the final plan. It’s been on the agenda, and it’s been studied and restructured. Germany knows it, and now it’s become a risk all around Europe that the shameless call to action of the far right, mainly white supremacists that are feeling cornered by what they call the «woke» agenda. So their intolerance being attacked has now led to their intollerance being imposed.
Today democracy in Europe will have another act that will shape the complexity of forming government with the intention to keep building the future of an interconnected European Union, and with the careful understanding of what the germans’ worries and preocupations in their lives lead them to believe what’s the best way forward.
Let’s see how this day unfolds.
