I’m gonna go ahead and tell you a secret. I don’t particulary like Silicon Valley stars. Not even Steve. There’s still something missing in the purpose of this so called great vision they are providing through technology. And it’s still amazing. And interconnected like never before. Also we work the way Bill wants. We’ve learned both ends. Through idolizing Steve & Bill. And feel both serious and adventorous. Good old Americans.
Well, you see: I repect that. That’s a whole lot. And it’s so like you. You are that big, that cool, that business driven. It is amazing what has happened the last 40 years. And the way these people have touched our reality into this uneven tech savy society. Levelled fields. That’s an innovation adoption unmet need. Let’s see if we can lead towards collective collaborative unmet needs that we can tacke together from a demand-driven drive.
We, the people. I like that concept. I also see how it’s biased. And you don’t see it. Thus the bias. It ain’t your fault. I’m not here to spook you. I ain’t here to judge you. But ain’t goint that way, either.
The trully lacking element is sense in the future common vision to address actually the greatest achievable result: the transformed human society in that NEW dimention.
But (here comes the but…) in this video, both Pascal and Steve himself have a point: recruiting is key. People that lead who learn from. The motivational element from being part of a trully transformative team. Not just transformational. Transformative because it transforms you. But Transformational because it transforms society. A greater collective. Something bigger than the governance team. The team leading this show. The directors board. And allies. And partners. And investors. And the holly market. Love. Sustainability. Salaries for the team. Bonusses. And fair salaries for the workforce. A sustainable culture with the right-left fair quid pro quo.
But there is almost a mystical statement in this video by good old Steve that good old Pascal is not digging his deep understanding into many-a-thing this time: the fact that Apple went for a professional management service hiring some big names from the serious traditional conventional markets (not this trendy startups), and guess what? They didn’t like it. The were phony. The were empty people. People who have tricked the system. Maybe they have made it because of their network, their familiy name, or what ever means people who don’t know much do to get all the way to the top. And there is nothing there to scratch the surface of a more powerful and creative team of people who actually have something to contribute because they are good and passionate about something. Anything. And use that super power. Who would you want the team to be lead by? Someone who can actually add something to the team because that person knows at least one thing real good. While the high risk is that the other only knows baloney.
I’m a bit Italian. You are going to have to excuse my French. And my undivided ticatalanism.
Still I recognize Steve’s contribution. Specially in this clip. He’s said something that trully strikes a chord. Harmoneusly. Nine people together working collaborativelly is what it takes to bring to the market a true technological break through. This is the size of an optimal technological group of nine individuals. What sort of mix do you think could lead up to the transformational element that those nine people would have to resolve. From one end, a demand-driven social, health or environmental unmet need, all the way to the marked adoption that allows it to sustain over time.
Sustainability is the «buzz» word. You’ll hear your favorite politician conjugate the word in the way it seems to be used. But the true effort is right here where those nine people start up a NEW community. A new quest. This is where the starting up of social trully meaningful unmet need start. It’s not an easy game. But it’s one worth knowing how to work yourself about. We need group of talented people who have a passion and a skill, in the right mix, to make a bigger collaboartive collective action to take place. What management represent: leading a crew to an expected tranformational vision. The impact journey of a NEW fleet.
Steve expresses in less words that I spend here going elsewheres. Steve goes to the point. And creates a bigger impact. He knows how to affect you. You have loved him in secret for ages. He IS you idol. You don’t requiere to believe in any other GOD. He is enough. He is THE MAN.
That sort of idolizing makes me itch. And that where my disconfort with his hard core followers gives me a trully hard time. In a biased way. I admit it. I have a bias with tech gurus. It happens with Jeff, Mark, Elon and the whole crew. They are great and all. But still, no soul.
I’m part of such a team at the Innovation and Prospective (pure futurism) Unit at the public agency for the health system that speciallizes in quality assessment, HTA and bringing demand-driven unmet needs to the market through managing procurement of innovation projects. Around nine people from the project coordination to each of the work package leaders and the proper innovation procurement adoption evangelist and some high-level class directors who actually know how to do something and provide value to what the project needs to keep the projects high impact goals in targeted measurable indicators that act as tranparency data to know exactly when we will have achieved our forcasted goals to be delivered by a series of «how-what» activities.
The amazing thing about this unit is that we represent the health system, and help other actors present themselves to the industry with a plan: an unmet-need journey to go the mile for the transformational projects that will reshape the sustainable future of our health and social systems.
